The Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra continues to excite music lovers with its astonishing achievements with a spectacular concert, in which virtuosity, lyricism and the grandiose fanfares of the symphonic repertoire meet the igniting enthusiasm of 80 talented young musicians. Enjoy this wonderful concert in Nicosia and in Rome.

At the concert, which will be given on Monday 29 September at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre, at 8.30pm, the CyYSO will perform Antonin Dvorak’s colourful and soulful Symphony no. 9 in E minor, “From the New World” under the baton of its Artistic Director and Conductor Yiorgos Kountouris. This masterpiece will be preceded by the enthousiastic Overture to the opera The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini, the Cypriot Suite by Alkis Baltas and the Tzigane by Maurice Ravel, a highly virtuosic work whose violin solo part was assigned to Andreas Zinonos, one of the many arising talents of the orchestra’ s Music Workshop.

The concert will be preceded by a video projection with highlights from the multifaceted activity of the Orchestra, concerts, performances in important events, Summer and Spring Music Academies, Music Workshop.

The same concert will be presented in Rome at the beginning of October, following an invitation by the Association of Cypriots in Rome (“NIMA”) as part of the annual celebrations dedicated to the history and culture of Cyprus.
